L'Arbre qui cachait la forêt: listening to the living world differently

The Tree That Hid the Forest shifts the gaze towards the non-human living.

The novel begins as a human story, in a village confronted with drying, tensions and changes in the territory. Then the narrative gradually reveals that other presences observe, feel and communicate differently: the trees.

Through Kamakata, Benoze, Marinta, Nafal and Liane, the novel explores underground relations, weak signals, plant memories and the way in which a territory can suffer for a long time before humans understand what is coming undone beneath their feet.

This novel seeks to write the trees without transforming them into humans. They do not speak as we do. They do not move as we do. They exist otherwise.
