In 1541, La Vigilante leaves Madagascar. Ahead lies the Strait of Malacca — the world's busiest crossing of empires, languages and forbidden trades. Malo, whose true identity remains hidden, follows a route of Portuguese cartographers, Chinese merchants and Malay dynasties. Behind her, a betrayal has already reached the East. This second volume tightens the grip: the sea has grown narrower, and the choices harder. Publication planned for 2027.
